When the weather turns warm, this young man’s thoughts often turn to 60s soft pop. Well, I may not be so young, but when a classic softie like The Critters’ “Mr. Dieingly Sad” is spinning it does feel like 1966 again (when I was really young!). Something of a hit single for them, this lovely tune also anchored their spotty Younger Girl album. Slotting in nicely with The Association and The Cyrkle, this is slightly paisley harmony pop of the highest order, and well worth 2:46 or your time.
